Tuesday was a nice day because we got to sleep in (and thank god--a little recovery from the night before was SO needed). We started the day with hair--Alicia has been my colorist for a couple of years now and we needed to touch up my roots and we took off a few inches so that it was easier to manage (read: less blow dry time) and would hold shape better when curling it.Read More
OMG. Monday night got a little...CRAZY (read: AWESOME). It was Sammy Mac's birthday, and we wanted to celebrate her and let loose, so we snagged an Uber, headed downtown, and started out night at THAI RESTAURANT NAME. (You'll later learn that we basically stayed there the whole night except as we walked up the street to get to our Uber...).Read More
While usually Monday is the nation-wide-dreaded-day, I welcomed it with open arms! Being in California, in the desert, with some of my favorite people was the perfect way to wake up. I started my day with a trip to Trader Joe's where I instantly picked up some additional blooms that matched the shoot's color palette perfectly. I carried on through the store picking out the prettiest of fruits and vegetables as we knew that was an important element we wanted to add to the tablescape (and it paid offffff!).Read More
Over the next few days I'm going to explain the course of my workation, but really I want to start this mini-series off by telling you WHY it's so important.Read More
On Thursday October 12th, I went out to dinner in Edmonds with friends--across the boat. I was part way through dinner when I got a call asking when I was coming home--my grandma had fallen asleep earlier that day and hadn't woken up yet; the whole family was there. I finished my dinner and got on the ferry and came home. I got there, and she was lying in her chair in the living room. I sat close and held her, and started crying. My mom tried to console me, and then my grandpa, "What can I do to help you? he said. I bawled and said "I just want her to wake up one last time!"Read More
Lo and Connor had gotten engaged earlier this year during summer. We had set the wedding date for an intimate gathering for September 2nd, 2018--plenty of time to do all of the things we wanted to do: custom build tables, hand-sew napkins, design the perfect day for a couple we LOVE (our brother and his soon-to-be-wife, who had our hearts a long long time ago).Read More
She had good days. She had bad days. She had days where she was up, doing laundry and cooking. And she had days where she could hardly get out of bed. She had days where she hallucinated. But she had good days.Read More
This is going to be a three part story, with a beautiful wedding in between (you'll understand soon). This isn't easy to write, but I believe it's therapeutic and I believe that letting people in is better than shutting people out.Read More
You guys! We are sharing the most beautiful engagement session RIGHT NOW. Our brother asked Lo to marry him earlier this year and we were ECSTATIC to be gaining an official sister (even though we considered her family a long long time ago). As we began wedding planning (like any good wedding-planning-sister would do), Lo pretty much was open to everything but she KNEW she wanted Sam as her photographer, and we were PUMPED.Read More
I'm sure you've heard of Christmas in July, right? Well we do it BIG around here. If you wanna read the story of how Christmas in July came to be, click here, but otherwise, I'm moving on and showing off how beautiful it turned out. Cam and I are celebrating 12 years this month, and this is the PERFECT time to reflect on joyous memories, and we are grateful for the friends and family in our life who come alongside us to celebrate and create a memory together. Lucky, yup, that's what we are.Read More
It's me! It's me! Taylor! Ready?! Well, I am! TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!!Read More
Oh boy, oh boy! When we find things that we like, we have to share them with the world. There's this cute site and we want you to check it out!
I picked this flask up for Cam, and he has nothing but good things to say about it...now, he's a man, so mind you he doesn't have much to say about it, but "Yeah, it's cool!" While I'm over here excited and somewhat shaking (okay, it's not a big deal, I get super excited when I give gifts), he's just trying to fill up his new flask with his favorite booze.Read More
For the past year we have chatted about getting a matching tattoo...one problem, we are picky and opinionated. For the first few months we would throw out an idea just for the other three to shut it down (real nice of them, huh). We knew it had to be meaningful to us but we also wanted it to capture two decades of a friendship and the many more that we have to come.Read More
Friends! I'm SUPER pumped to share this with you: CHRISTMAS. IN. JULY.
Let me explain...I am the most Christmas-gift-giving kind of person. Like. Color coded lists. Shopping months in advance and even all year round. Gift wrap that matched with perfect ribbon to adorn it. Cam and I love to find THE perfect gift for people (when I say Cam and I, I mostly mean ME!).
Two years ago, it was December 23rd, my birthday, and I realized we hadn't done anything at all. No gifts. No beautifully wrapped presents. Nothing. Then, the 24th came, and still nothing. NOTHING.
