3 #BloomBashSeattle Takeaways
The schedule was jam-packed full of good content, good eats, pretty details, hands-on learning + amazing speakers.
We (Taylor + Ashley) were the lucky ones, who got to attend this workshop, while Jordan + Carson stayed home at #BPHQ to man Jordan's daycare. First, we'll give you a run-down, then we will move on to our takeaways.
We woke up at the wee hours of 3 and 4am to get our hair ready to go + meet with our make up artist, Kelly of Faces by Kelly Storm. She made us look beautiful + we hit the road to catch an early ferry, because we were meeting with the talented Katy of Katy Murray Photography whom we met via the Rising Tide Society facebook group for creative entrepreneurs, as she was traveling all over the west coast + generously offering to take photos. She so kindly photographed us + got some cute couple shots of Cam + Tay. Enjoy a few below!

After we finished photos on Pier 66, we headed up to the Rainier Chapter House, where we had a sweet breakfast + dove right in to the content for the day: blogging, social media, photography, design + styling, the list goes on! We loved hearing Lauren from Elle & Company speak on branding. We ended the day with a Q+A session with a panel of experts + then we headed off for a tasty farm-to-table dinner + a venue walk-thru for a December #bixbyandpinebride.
Day two was full of more education + hands on learning! With another good breakfast, we began our day with a brush calligraphy class with Jenny of Graceline Art (and guys, she's DOING OUR LOGO RIGHT NOW, and is SO TALENTED!). We had another hands-on experience with Ashley of Tinge Floral, as we learned about her business, her designs + then got to make one of our own.
When we signed up to attend this workshop, we saw that there would be two break out sessions, that we needed to choose between, and it couldn't have been any more perfect; Ashley immediately was drawn to the Elements & Principles of Design session with Michaela + Melissa from The Inspired Room, and Taylor knew the Photography & The Client Experience session with Ashley + Lora of Lora Grady Photography would be perfect for her.
After our breakout sessions, we had the opportunity to go through the motions of a styled shoot. The tablescape was stunning, the BHLDN gowns were beautiful, the invitation suite was MAGNIFICENT, but even better than all of that was seeing a past #bixbyandpinebride, Shannon + her dashing groom, Nick, as they modeled in this shoot!

So, now we move on to our top three takeaways for you!
1) Blog about your profession, with tips, DIYs, lessons + more. You are an expert in your field, so show people that. This means that you need to be writing some sort of educational posts, that help others in your field or your ideal client, to show off your expertise + experience.
2) Booking clients isn't just about booking as many as you can; it's about booking the right ones. This means, it's important to do some sort of "screening" process before you sign a contract. This ensures a couple of things: that you LOVE what you're doing + that your client is getting the very best experience possible with you.
3) Go outside of your field of expertise to gain inspiration + ideas! This means that if you're an interior decorator, look at fashion trends. If you're a wedding planner, look at textures + colors in art. The goal is to go outside of your box (+ comfort zone!) to be inspired + gather new ideas.
