Good morning friends!
Today is an exciting day, because it’s ONE. MONTH. away from (what we know is gonna be) one of our favorite weddings of the year. Shayna + Mark have been a TRUE pleasure for us to work with. Shayna is basically Taylor so you can imagine the emails and text messages that come through--honesty, bluntness, drama, and lots of hilariousness. For real.
Let’s start back when we went over to Shayna + Mark’s house to present their design proposal: We were more excited than nervous, and they welcomed us into their home with appetizers and a Mexican dinner fit for royalty (so good, in fact, we’ve held on to the salad recipe and are making her delicious salad on Cinco de Mayo!). Over dinner, Shayna told us about her issue of sometimes saying she likes something, but then later realizing she doesn’t--she told us that often times she’ll get her haircut, tell the stylist she loves it, and then get in her car and cry and cry and cry because she hates it. Well, this phrase has stuck--we told her absolutely no “haircut moments” and just really give yourself time to let things sink in.
We enjoyed wine and as we sat down, they handed over the SWEETEST little gifts--candles (our love language) and Sugarfina gummies, plus the BEST handwritten notes to us individually expressing their appreciation for what we specifically bring to the table. We remember thinking in that moment Wow, we are SO blessed by our clients!
We presented their design proposal and they pretty much loved it all--but we told them to let it soak in cuz ain’t nobody want a haircut moment.
Fast forward, and although there have been some vendor hiccups along the way, we’re all set to go with an INCREDIBLE team of vendors who are going to give so much life to the day. Shayna + Mark are getting married at Kitsap Memorial State Park, and guys, this is anything but a normal state park--plus, we have ways to really bring out the very best and highlight the elements that are already there. There may or may not be a rad yurt for the Tisch and Bedeken (Jewish pre-ceremony traditions). They’re saying “I do” in a ceremony in the woods under a chuppah that her brother was married under (cue the tears!). We’re drinking signature cocktails and having the most delicious passed appetizers. And then we’re moving into the log hall for a dinner that is served family styles on farm tables with greenery runners and the sweetest place settings. We can’t give away too much, cuz their friends and family are reading this, but really, Shayna + Mark are showing love to their guests RIGHT when they find their seat, and it’s something we support FULLY and think everyone should take note from.
Okay, enough about that, you’re going to have to wait to see the rest--in the meantime, you can enjoy their golden hour engagement photos shot by our friend Samantha.
